India whisky tariff: what the cut from 150% to 75% means for your prices
Since the UK-India trade deal came into force on 15 July 2026, Scotch whisky and gin pay a 75% tariff instead of 150%, falling to 40% by year ten. UK soft drinks now enter tariff-free. We plan how much of the cut to pass on, and the prices that win share.
Customs tariff only, on the import value. State excise, other duties and taxes come on top.
