Pricing decisions for your whole range, measured from your own data.
We take the sales data you already hold, separate price from everything else that moves your sales, and give you a plan for prices and promotions that you can take to your finance director and your retailers.
Four things you keep at the end
Each one is written for the person who will use it: your finance director, your commercial team and your analysts.
One-page finance readout
The headline number, the plan and how sure we are, written for your finance director.
Price and promotion plan
Product by product and channel by channel, with the expected effect on volume, revenue and profit.
Scenario model
Test other price moves, cost changes or retailer reactions yourself, without waiting for us.
Method and findings report
Every assumption and test written down, so your analysts can check our work.
Everything that moves your sales, so price is measured on its own
A price effect is only as good as everything else the model accounts for. These are the effects we separate in every engagement.
- Price elasticity for every productHow much volume each product loses or gains when its price moves, by channel or retailer.
- Switching between your productsWhen one product gets cheaper or dearer, which of your other products gain or lose sales.
- Promotion effectsThe extra sales from deals and displays, separated from the price cut and from sales borrowed from other weeks.
- Weather and the calendarTemperature, season, bank holidays, Christmas and major tournaments, so none of them is mistaken for a price effect.
- Distribution and range changesNew and lost listings, so growth from being in more stores is not credited to price.
- Your costs and marginsSo every recommendation is judged on profit as well as volume and revenue.
We work with the data you already have
Most drinks brands already hold everything we need. Two years of weekly history is ideal, and we tell you early if something is missing and how much it matters.
Keeping your data safe
- NDA and data processing agreement signed before any data moves.
- The option to run everything inside your own cloud, so your data never leaves it.
- Encrypted in transit and at rest, and deleted when the engagement ends unless you ask us to keep it.
- Never pooled with other clients' data.
- Retailer EPOSWeekly sales and prices by product from your retailer data portals.
- Market dataCircana, Nielsen or Kantar, if you subscribe. Useful for competitor prices.
- Shipments and invoicesYour own sales to each customer, with list and net prices.
- Promotion plansWhat ran, when, at what depth and with what in-store support.
- Costs and trade termsSo we can work in profit, product by product.
A fixed scope and a clear end date, then a refresh before each pricing round
Scope
A call to agree the decisions you face and the data you hold. NDA and data agreement signed before anything moves.
Data in
You send extracts using our templates. We check them and come back with questions.
Model
We build your portfolio model and test it on weeks it has not seen, so you know how accurate it is.
Decide
You get the plan, the readout and the scenario model, and we walk your team through each recommendation.
Refresh
Send fresh data and we update the model and the plan before each price change or retailer meeting.
Before you get in touch
How is this different from the free demo calculator?
The demo fits one simple model to one product's sales. An engagement covers your whole range, uses all of your data sources, measures how your products affect each other, and ends with a plan that we review with your team.
Do we need Nielsen or Circana data?
No. Retailer EPOS or your own shipment data is enough to start. Market data helps with competitor prices if you already have it.
How much history do you need?
Two years of weekly data is ideal, because it covers every season twice. One year can work for a first look, and we will tell you how much the shorter history limits the answer.
Our data is messy. Is that a problem?
It is normal. Checking and fixing the data is part of every engagement, and we agree any gaps with you before we start modelling.
How is this different from a strategy consultancy?
We do one thing, pricing analytics for drinks, with a method that is already built and tested. That means weeks rather than months, a fixed scope, and a model you keep and can refresh.
What does it cost?
Each engagement is scoped to the decisions you need to make and the data involved, and quoted as a fixed price before we start. Tell us what you need and we will send a proposal.
Tell us about your range and the decision in front of you.
A first call takes thirty minutes. You will come away knowing what data we would need and what an engagement would cover.
